Employment Advertisement – Overhead Door Technician

Aroundtown Garage Doors Ltd., Metro Vancouver’s newest overhead door dealer, operates across the greater Vancouver area and we have established ourselves as a premium residential garage door installation and repair company. We provide access solutions by servicing and installing a variety of overhead doors and automatic openers, operators and associated controls.

Role:
We have an immediate opening for an Overhead Door Technician – Service & Install. This position will service and install overhead doors & openers focusing on quality, safety and superior customer service. This role is a permanent, full time position.

Responsibilities:
Provides installation and service to a variety of overhead door and openers/operators.
Diagnose problems, provide solutions, and carry out required work
Regularly coordinate with the service scheduler on problem solving and required parts
Regular interaction with customers, construction project managers & other trades and safety personnel
Assist other technicians with install and service as required
Other duties, as assigned

Skills:
Mechanically inclined
Customer service focused with strong work ethic
Team player with a positive attitude
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Comfortable with heights (ladders & lifts)
Good physical condition and mechanical aptitude
Strong safety mindset
Willing and able to successfully complete pre-site access requirements
Good physical condition

Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, work on feet all day and in all weather conditions

Qualifications:
3+ years’ experience in a relevant trade (such as construction, millwright, mechanical or electrical)
Experience in a Service/Installation Industry considered an asset
Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
CDI Certification is an asset but not a requirement
Relevant safety training is an asset (such as Fall Protection, Elevated Work Platform or Standard First Aid)
Experience servicing/installing overhead doors is considered an asset
